What is your True Color Personality Style? I got blue which means I value harmony, compassion, and helping other people. This sounds a lot like me because I think it's important to be positive and to think about others.
Who is your idol? My idol is my mom. She is funny, kind, smart, and my best friend. She has instilled in me my "go with the flow" attitude about life, which has made me a better person and friend. She also always encourages me to stick up for myself and advocate for myself and others. My mom is there supporting me everywhere I go, from dance recitals to school events. She is the kind of person I aspire to be.
Why do you love to dance? When I'm dancing, it is like the rest of the world disappears. It doesn't matter if I had a long day at school or I'm in a bad mood, when I dance all the negative emotions go away. Dance is a lot of work, but that is part of the reason why I love it. When you work hard on a trick for months, it's so rewarding when you finally get it. So many dancers have inspired me both inside and outside of the studio and I hope to pass that on to someone one day.
What is your proudest accomplishment & why? This year I saved up enough to do a solo and go to a dance convention. I was really proud of myself for getting a job, saving money, and applying it to dance. It felt good to be independent and when I was performing it made me even happier because I felt like I did it myself.
What goals are you working on right now (in both dance & life)? Right now I'm working on teaching. I tutor a few kids in math, but I would love to teach more. It's an interesting challenge to take information and teach it in a way that makes more sense to a kid. This year I also taught ballet to a little girl. This was a fun experience because it was my first time teaching and I taught the girl a dance that she performed for her family. I can't wait for next year to assistant teach a hip hop class at my studio. I really hope to get to teach my own class one day!
Tell us about a difficult situation in your life and how you got through it. What did you learn? A: Last year my dog, who is older, was really sick and we thought he was going to die. This was really hard for me and my brother because he was our first pet and we have had him for 11+ years. Luckily, he got better and is still alive, but during that time I learned to appreciate the things you have every day and never take life for granted..
What is the most daring thing you've ever done? This year was also my third year going to NUVO dance convention in February. I decided to compete an improv solo this year, which meant I would not know the song I was dancing to. I would just have to improvise my dance once I got on stage. It was really scary to be surrounded by all these amazing dancers who had been practicing their solos for months, when I didn't even know my dance! It was also nerve-wracking to be performing in front of judges who had choreographed for famous dancers and TV shows, but I got on stage and did it! I was so proud of myself and it ended up being so awesome!
If you've been to ADTC, what is your favorite dance camp memory & why? One of my favorite dance camp memories was taking a drill team dance class. It was a style I had never tried before, so it was hard, but super fun! One of my favorite parts about camp is getting to try new styles like African dance, Irish step, partner dancing, or even breakdancing!
What is your A.D.T.C. Superpower? My A.D.T.C. Superpower is I'm an adventurer. I love trying new things and meeting new people at home and at camp. If you never challenge yourself, you will never grow! Sometimes you have to step out of your comfort zone, but who knows? Maybe you will find something you love!
What do you want other girls to learn from reading your #ADTCidol bio & story? I want to inspire the other girls that read my story to not to be afraid to try new things. Whether it is a sport you've never tried, or even just making a new friend, you should always go out and expand your horizons. Every new experience is a chance for you to learn something and be a better person!

Is there a fun fact about you that people might find surprising? I have a preschool within my high school and I got to be a teacher in there this past year.
What is your True Color Personality Style? I am definitely a blue and it's what I got when I took the test. Everything that the color blue represents I am and I believe. It honestly matches me and my personality perfectly.
Who is your idol? My mom is definitely my idol. She has inspired me with her endless amounts of strength and inspires me to keep going every day. We have been through so much but my mom has never given up, not once. She has never let me down, or anyone else, and she has so much love in her heart. She is my rock and without her, I would not be who I am or where I am today.
Why do you love to dance? Dance is my whole world. I get to express myself, learn so many new things, meet so many incredible people, and it brings me so much joy. I honestly can't remember that last time I went a day without dancing. Dance has been my rock and is my therapy, it gets me through all the good days and the bad ones. I just love everything about it.
What is your proudest accomplishment & why? My proudest accomplishment is simply that I am standing here today. I have been through so much in my life, especially in the last 4 years and there were some days where I didn't think I was going to make it. But in the last year I decided to basically start over and have built myself back up. I am proud of how far I've come, how much I've overcome, and everything I have done to just be able to still be breathing.
What goals are you working on right now (in both dance & life)? My main goal is to just get through each and every day with a smile on my face. In dance, my goal is to become stronger and learn more from different choreographers in different styles. In life, my goal is to find at least a little bit of joy and happiness in everything I do, or most things.
Tell us about a difficult situation in your life and how you got through it. What did you learn? 4 years ago my dad passed away suddenly, and ever since then it's been pretty tough. I was ok at first but I was also so young so
it didn't really make sense to me. But when I got to high school, especially my sophomore year, I started to really feel it. I was also going through some issues with my best friends and ended up loosing my 4 best friends that were like my sisters. So now not only was I having a hard time in school and missing my dad, I had just lost 4 people that got me through each day. I ended up not knowing who I was anymore and didn't think I had anything to live for. But I got help from a therapist and started over. I found my passion for dance again, new and incredible friends, ways to cope, and so many things that I had to live for, one of the main ones being camp. I have found so much more happiness in the last year and have found myself again. I learned so much from this experience but most importantly I learned that there are going to be hard times, but there is a light at the end of the tunnel. That light is what I need to find in each day and keep my head up. Like I say to myself every morning when I look in the mirror, "you've got this." That is my saying and will always be my favorite saying.
What is the most daring thing you've ever done? I'm not really sure but probably stepping out of my comfort zone to do things like go to camp. I never ever thought I would go to a sleep away camp as a child, but I'm so glad my mom pushed me to do it because it's my favorite place to be. I found some of my best friends there and I found most of my happiness there.
If you've been to ADTC, what is your favorite dance camp memory & why? I have so many favorite memories from ADTC but my favorite memories besides getting to perform every Friday night, is getting to hangout with my best friends. Our late night hangouts where we get to just talk and be together and act like we weren't just apart for 11 months.
What is your A.D.T.C. Superpower? Team-player! I am always making sure everyone is included and feels important. I always make sure I include everyone's ideas and I get along with pretty much everyone I meet. No one should ever feel uncomfortable or unworthy or even like they're not good enough, so I make sure the people that surround me always feel loved.
What do you want other girls to learn from reading your #ADTCidol bio & story? I want them to know that they've got this. That they can make it through anything even when they don't think so. I want girls to know that they aren't alone in anything and there is always someone out there for them to lean on. Life is a journey, it has no stop signs or yellow lights, so all we can do is find ways to keep going.

Who is your idol? My dad is my idol because he has always been there for me and he's always happy. He has such a kind and warming heart. He is so supportive in everything I do and I am so grateful for my dad.
Why do you love to dance? Dance makes me feel alive and dance is somewhere I can escape anything I have going on. It makes me feel free and content. I have learned over the year that dance isn't about the steps and getting all the movements right. It's more about how you feel while you are dancing. It doesn't have to always be perfect and everyone is perfect in their own way. I love to dance with my whole heart.
What is your proudest accomplishment & why? My proudest accomplishment is being accepted into my dance company AIM. It is a very intense performance company and two years ago I had been accepted into the company. It was my third-time auditioning and I felt ready, excited, and scared. When I found out I got in it was the best feeling in the world my heart was filled and I was so proud of myself. By the way, I found out at ADTC.
What goals are you working on right now (in both dance & life)? I am going into my junior year of high school which will be very hard academically so I have made goals to work very hard and keep my grades up. As for dance make my dance company again and to try to push myself to explore different ways to move my body.
Tell us about a difficult situation in your life and how you got through it. What did you learn? I don't have a specific one but sometimes I have to choose between dance and my friends and it can be pretty difficult but I have learned that I don't want to waste the time I have being young and free and doing the thing I love. I sometimes regret doing dance because it take up so much of my time but I love it so much and it makes me so happy and I know I will always will have it in my life.
What is the most daring thing you've ever done? I don't have a specific one but sometimes I don't stand up for myself and say what I want to say and I feel this year I have learned to say I am what I am feeling. I have learned that this can go both ways but either way I know I did what I wanted to do and I feel good about it.
If you've been to ADTC, what is your favorite dance camp memory & why? I don't have one but honestly just meeting everyone and dance idol.

What is your True Color Personality Style? In my True Colors Personality Test it says I am a Green. I am not sure about what a Green is supposed to mean, but by the words given I believe a green is very much an Introvert that prefers knowledge and likes to ask questions to find out the answer to things. I think this very much describes me because I have taken many tests before about Introverts and Extroverts and many times I seem to be on the Introverts side. Also, my color says Science and that is something I very much am interested in. Therefor, I think that Green may most definitely be my color in the True Color Personality Style test..
Who is your idol? As a lot of the times I get asked who my Idol is, but to me I do not have any certain idol. I feel that all people can empower or change you for the better, so I feel that I can not just name one person who is my idol because as I said there are too many people who could be my idol. If I did have to choose though I might say Albert Einstein because he is one of the most may I say smartest and scientific human yet. That makes me think of again the above question with science, so maybe this again proves that I am a Green and that If I had to choose my idol it would be Albert Einstein.
Why do you love to dance? I like to dance because it helps you express your feelings in a way that is fun. Also, I like to dance because it not only is it fun, but it also can help you understand music more and how all music is built.
What is your proudest accomplishment & why? One of my proudest accomplishments might be when I skied where the 2015 skiing Olympics was held on the exact run that all the skiers competed on.
What goals are you working on right now (in both dance & life)? I am working on of course becoming a better dancer and also reading more. I think those are both important in the long run of life.
Tell us about a difficult situation in your life and how you got through it. What did you learn? A difficult situation in my life that not only me but everybody else is facing is the Coronavirus. So far I have gotten through it with
just staying home. Something I learned from this world pandemic is that our government is not prepared to handle our society
through troubling times, and that our government spends more time focusing on the tabloids that actually trying to run a Country.
What is the most daring thing you've ever done? One of the most daring things I have ever done is go on the 2015 Olympics track were all the competitive Olympic skiers skied.
What is your A.D.T.C. Superpower? My A.D.T.C. superpower is Creator. Ton do this superpower I am going to become a problem solver in creative and different ways that no one would expect.
What do you want other girls to learn from reading your #ADTCidol bio & story? I might want people to learn from my #ADTCidol bio and story is just maybe some interesting facts about me and just a way I guess to get to know me.

What is your biggest pet peeve? I have two. One is when people say dance isn't a sport and the other is when my locker combo isn't turned to zero.
Is there a fun fact about you that people might find surprising? I used to play ice hockey
What is your True Color Personality Style? I am green. I totally agree with everything it said. My mom read it too and said it was spot-on. I enjoy hard work at school and I like to challenge myself in all aspects of life. I am a major perfectionist. When I do projects in school I will spend as long as it takes to get it done exactly how I want it. In dance I will practice until I get my dances memorized and exactly how I want them. I am a problem solver. However I also identify with lots of the things in the blue category. I need opportunities to be creative and I value having a few close friends instead of many people that aren't close with you.
Who is your idol? One of my idols is Dolly Parton. Her story is so inspiring to me and I think that she teaches lessons that everyone should learn. Also the fact that she can put these lessons into a catchy song is just so neat. Dolly inspires me because of her crazy work-ethic. She came from a very poor household but she didn't let it drag her down and she didn't make excuses for herself. She is confident and believes in staying true to yourself and just having fun with life which I think is important. I also love these quote from Dolly: "find out who you are and do it on purpose", "we can not direct the wind, but we can adjust the sails", and "you'll never do a whole lot unless you're brave enough to try." Dolly has empowered me to be unique and to work hard in everything that I do.
Why do you love to dance? I love dancing because it is almost like an escape. When you dance you can get away from problems and focus on yourself. You are able to learn about yourself while exercising and having fun with your friends. It is also a beautiful sport. I enjoy watching others dance and I love dancing myself. I love moving to the music and a dance studio is a safe space. You can express yourself in an outgoing way and no one will criticize you for it. It is nice to have a dance family that is there for you.
What is your proudest accomplishment & why? My proudest accomplishment is more of a long term thing. For a long time I have had a lot of different interests. I do dance, play the cello, love cooking, I used to play hockey, I love reading, and I also spend a lot of time with family and friends. I am proud of myself for juggling all of these activities while still having time for school and free time. Especially as I get older and dance, cello, and school require even more time and effort. It is hard to juggle everything. At times you just want to quit and focus on one thing. But I love all of these activities and I'm proud of myself for putting in the extra work and maintaining diverse interests.
What goals are you working on right now (in both dance & life)? In dance I am working on my flexibility and turns. In life I am working on being less of a perfectionist. It's okay to want to do things well but I don't want to let it drag me down.
Tell us about a difficult situation in your life and how you got through it. What did you learn? Something hard that I have experienced is exclusion. I had a lot of people who I thought were my friends would exclude me, which hurt. It took a long time to realize that that is not how friends treat each other. I moved to a different and smaller group of people who actually care about their friends and are inclusive to everyone. I slowly changed my group of friends. For the longest time I
thought I was stuck with my friends just because we'd been together for a while. But I learned that you aren't tied to anyone. Social groups change. That's just what happens and it is OKAY. It is part of life. I realized that our friendship had run its course. I still have great memories with them and they shouldn't be forgotten. It isn't okay to be rude to anyone no matter how they treated you in the past. But I am happier now. I feel more accepted and I love my small group of friends. It is just easier to be yourself when you don't have to worry about what other people think about you.
What is the most daring thing you've ever done? I love Disney world but I have been the biggest baby about rides for my whole life. I would only go on certain rides and it prevented my whole family from going on some of the rides together. I recently went to Disney for my 12th birthday and I decided I was going to put aside my fears and just go for it. I went on the Rock 'n' Roller Coaster, Expedition Everest, and Space Mountain for the first time. I loved them! I was so nervous but I pushed myself to try something new and it paid off! One of my favorite quotes is "She was powerful, not because she wasn't scared but because she went on so strongly despite the fear." -Harper Lee. This experience reminds me of this quote because I was scared but I did it anyway and I loved it and had fun. I actually ended up going on Rock 'n' Roller Coaster 6 more times that trip because it was just so fun and exciting.
What is your A.D.T.C. Superpower? I am an #ADTCadventurer. I try new things often even if I'm afraid I won't like it. I like to embrace different thinking and styles of dance.
What do you want other girls to learn from reading your #ADTCidol bio & story? You are you and that is perfect. Nobody can change who you are and you shouldn't let them have a say in who you are. Be authentic to who you are and if people don't see the awesome in you they aren't the people to listen to.

Who is your idol? My Nanny, and my parents. they have made me stronger by pushing me to work harder to reach my goals.
Why do you love to dance? I love to dance because it makes me happy, and lets me run off my energy instead of actually run. Dancing keeps me from thinking about other things. It is a time when I can only think about how my body moves, plus I get to listen to music.
What is your proudest accomplishment & why? My first ballet solo at a competition i performed We Are The Champions and got first place. it was scary to get up there on stage, but i did it.
What goals are you working on right now (in both dance & life)? i am working on my back bends and making my right leg kick as high as my left leg.

What is the most daring thing you've ever done? I was afraid of heights and I climbed the rock wall at my Camp Fire camp. I had to try three times before I could do the entire thing. I learned that the guy helping with the rock wall will help you climb down if you can't' do it. Then I learned to try again.
What is your A.D.T.C. Superpower? I am a dreamer.

Eileen wants campers to leave ADTC with the sense that dance is a safe place. She says, "I think some dancers come to camp from studios that put girls down for not rising to the level of others or for not doing well in competition. I would love to instill in all campers that dance is for everyone."
When Eileen is not dancing, you'll find her reading about anthropology, drawing or napping. Her favorite animal is the manatee, and a good grilled cheese will always be her perfect food!
