Akeila Sharp is a Chicago based dancer, choreographer and counselor. She has a Bachelor of Science in Biology and Minor in Performing and Media Arts from Cornell University, as well as a Master of Arts in Clinical Mental Health Counseling with a specialization in Dance/Movement Therapy from Lesley University.
Akeila works as a mental health therapist and teaches at community based dance programs in Chicago. She also works remotely as an E-Board member for Heidi’s Academy of the Performing Arts.
Akeila joined ADTC as an Instructor-Counselor in Wisconsin in 2022. She seeks to support campers not only in their growth as dancers, but more importantly in their mental and emotional wellbeing and self-discovery. She wants girls to know they don’t need to be perfect inside or outside the dance studio, and hopes to help them have fun and enjoy being kids!
