Hone your jazz dance technique in this 5-day Spring Break Dance Camp for intermediate/advanced dancers! You’ll have 90 minutes of live instruction/discussion with our world class dance instructors + 30 minutes of self-paced practice per-day.

CLASS DESCRIPTION

Make new friends, learn cool moves, and have a BLAST in one magical week of dancing with ADTC! Our “Jazz Dance for Teens (Int/Adv) Spring Break Dance Camp” offers experienced dancers the chance to grow, as dancers & people.

This is an Intermediate/Advanced level class and requires at least 2 year of jazz, Broadway, lyrical or modern dance training. Not sure what level to choose? Please reach out to us and we’ll help you find the best fit.

You’ll have 90 minutes of live instruction/discussion with our top-notch dance instructors + 30 minutes of self-paced practice per-day. Recording will be available on-demand after each class. Over the course of 5 days, you’ll learn 2 – 3 intermediate/advanced jazz dance combinations, and get the chance to choreograph & share your own shorter solo.

We’ll deepen our understanding of jazz dance by studying its history, technique, and choreography. Styles of jazz vary and may include Broadway, lyrical, modern or contemporary/funk. Routines are always set to upbeat, popular songs and incorporate turns, kicks, jumps, body isolations, rhythmic awareness & the dancer’s own expression/style.

During your 30 minutes of “Self-Paced Practice” (after class each day), we recommend you:

Practice dance combos (you get the chance to perform for each other on Friday) – video links will be shared!
Choreograph a solo for our Dance Idol Competition. This is optional, but our dance idol competition at our overnight camps is the highlight of the week for our campers, so we hope a lot of you will participate! Dancers should work on their solo a little bit every day (Mon – Thurs), and be ready to perform it in class on Friday.

We will also have fun theme days Tuesday – Friday for camper spirit! Whether you’re newer to jazz or a competitive dancer, this Spring Break Dance Camp will challenge & energize you in a safe & supportive space. We hope to dance with you soon!

Hip Hop/Street Jazz 101 Spring Break Camp

Deepen your understanding of hip hop & jazz dance in this 5-day Spring Break Dance Camp for beginners! You’ll have 90 min of live instruction/discussion with our world class dance instructors + 30 min of self-paced practice per-day.

You’ll have 90 minutes of live instruction/discussion with our top-notch dance instructors + 30 minutes of self-paced practice per-day. Recording will be available on-demand after each class. Over the course of 5 days, you’ll learn 2 – 3 dance combinations fusing traditional jazz with hip hop, and get the chance to choreograph & share your own shorter solo.

We dance to upbeat, popular songs while learning jazz dance fundamentals fused with a mix of street dance techniques including popping, locking, African, house & funk. On Friday, you’ll be invited to perform your group combinations & solos during class (optional)!

Since choreography is fresh each time we meet, dancers can join this dance club at any time!

Our Sr Contemporary Dance Club will help you deepen your foundational understanding of contemporary by studying its history, technique, and choreography. The perfect home-based jazz dance camp for all levels! This is a multi-day course that meets one night per-week for four or five weeks.

CLASS DESCRIPTION

Make new friends, learn cool moves, and have a BLAST with ADTC! Our “Jazz Dance Boot Camps” help you deepen your understanding of jazz dance by studying its history, technique and choreography. Each Jazz Dance Boot camp meets one night per-week for four or five weeks (with live instruction from 7 – 8:30pm EST each night).

Campers are divided into dance groups by age/ability and have 90 minutes of live two-way zoom instruction/discussion with our world-class dance instructors + 90 minutes of self-paced practice/collaboration per-week. On-demand video recordings are emailed after each class to keep practicing at home, and campers also get the chance to choreograph a short piece for our “Dance Idol” competition on the last day of each session.

Weekly self-growth, team challenges & theme days make our Virtual Jazz Boot Camps truly fun & engaging. You’ll learn 2 – 3 jazz combinations each session and be invited to share group/solo videos in our Virtual All-Camp Show for family, friends & fellow campers.
