Makenzie Murdock is a New York City based dancer and creative, originally from Los Angeles, California. She has a B.A. in Human Biology and a minor in Dance from the University of Southern California.

Makenzie began dancing at a young age with Pacific Festival Ballet while training in the summers with the Joffrey Chicago Ballet, Bolshoi Ballet, and Alonzo King Lines Ballet. Shortly after graduating from USC, she moved to New York and completed the Broadway Dance Center’s Professional Semester.

In NYC, Makenzie has worked with choreographers such as Marc Kimelman (Jagged Little Pill) and Chaz Wolcott (Newsies). Makenzie has been an Associate Choreographer for Chaz’s recent projects: Cats, Priscilla: Queen of the Desert, and the Steps on Broadway Certificate Program.

Some of Makenzie’s performance highlights have been dancing as Victoria in Cats (Interlakes Theatre), Dance Against Cancer Gala (Lincoln Center), and most recently as a dancer in the first National Tour of The Thorn!

Makenzie has a passion for teaching and was excited to share her love of dance as an ADTC Instructor-Counselor in North Carolina & Wisconsin in 2023. She also has a love for dinosaurs and all things sparkly! Makenzie’s favorite food is toast and Princess Poppy is her spirit animal.

When she’s not dancing, Makenzie can be found with her head in a book, hanging at the beach, or planning her next adventure!
