Who is your idol? My idol is another dancer and someone who has become my good friend her name is MaKenna. She is a amazing dancer and person. She works hard and is always willing to help others. She motivates and empowers me because she never quits. And she gives me the determination and encouragement to push for my dreams..
Why do you love to dance? I love dance because I can express my feelings and have fun. It makes me feel safe. I love to perform because it lets me be me and connect with others and share who I am.
What is your proudest accomplishment & why? I have a lot of proud moments but the one that sticks out the most right now is from this year. I broke my foot while dancing and I kept going. I finished my dance. And 6 weeks later, 11 days after getting my boot off I competed a simplified version of my solo and got a platinum and 8th overall. I was very proud of myself.
What goals are you working on right now (in both dance & life)? For dance I am working on my turns and improving my technique. In life outside of dance my goal is to work on myself more and take time for me.
Tell us about a difficult situation in your life and how you got through it. What did you learn? A difficult situation was when I broke my foot. It was my supporting leg and it was right before competition season started. I had to
work hard and miss 1 competition and it was really hard. I learned that I have to be patient with myself and that if I work hard I can come back stronger. And not to take things for granted.
What is the most daring thing you’ve ever done? Doing my first solo at the age of 7. I learned from that that I can do it and I can learn choreography on my own. It made me become independent and have a lot of confidence.
If you’ve been to ADTC, what is your favorite dance camp memory & why? Going to the water park with all my new friends. It gave us a chance to get to know each other outside of being dancers and it was a lot of fun.
What is your A.D.T.C. Superpower? I think I’m A for Adventurer. I love taking risks and trying new things even if they are hard. I also encourage my friends to try new things.
What do you want other girls to learn from reading your #ADTCidol bio & story? I want them to learn that dance is all about having fun, expressing yourself, and taking risks.
