ADTC Team-Player – Meet Darcy B. from IL!
“My A.D.T.C. Superpower is being a Team-Player. My friends and counselors at camp constantly inspire me to be this way by being kind, strong, caring, creative & fun!
I’m so happy with my life, but my most difficult situation was probably with my Celiac disease. For years, I didn’t know what was wrong with my stomach, and then last year I had a procedure done and got the result that I have Celiac disease!
The most daring thing I’ve ever done is the second week I came to ADTC in the summer 2018, I came without a friend. I was so worried I would be alone, but five minutes into the icebreakers I had already made friends with some of the most amazing people in the world.
I learned to always try new things from this because it could turn out amazing. I want to inspire the other girls that read my story to try everything at least once, even if it is scary.”

ADTC: What is your True Color Personality Style?
Darcy B: I got the color blue! I think it’s somewhat like me because I value my friendships a lot and am very sociable and easy to get along with. Also, I love the color blue!
ADTC: Who is your Idol?
Darcy B: I have many idols like my mom, my CIT Jessalyn, and my grandma! I idolize my mom because she’s hardworking, caring, and very smart, which are traits I want to have when I’m older. She’s also a really funny dancer and an amazing mom. I idolize Jessalyn because even though I’ve only known her for two years, she’s become one of my greatest role models. She’s an incredible dancer and person, and I definitely admire her bracelet making skills. She’s been my CIT 2/3 weeks I’ve been at ADTC, and I think of myself as her mini me! We both started at ADTC at the same age, and I hope to be a CIT (and JIC!) just like her someday. Lastly, I idolize my grandma because after retiring she traveled all over the world and saw so much, and that is something I really want to do after I retire because I love to travel.
ADTC: Why do you love to dance?
Darcy B: I love to dance because it makes me feel happy and I forget about all my problems when I’m dancing because I only focus on the next step and remembering corrections. It helps me clear my mind and improves my mood, especially at camp.
ADTC: What is your proudest accomplishment & why?
Darcy B: I don’t know if I have once specific proudest accomplishment, but I’m proud of becoming more flexible and strong.
ADTC: What goals are you working on right now (in both dance & life)?
Darcy B: My main dance goal currently is to make one or both of my high school dance teams! I’m an eighth grader now, and tryouts for both teams are in May. I’ve been working super hard and hope to make it, so that’s super important to me.
ADTC: What is the your favorite ADTC memory & why?
Darcy B: ADTC is literally my favorite place in the world, and I have so many amazing memories. One of my favorites is doing bumper boats with some of my friends in 2017. We sprayed each other with spray bottles and jumped in the pool at the amusement park, and that was probably when I really fell in love with ADTC.
