2024 Parent Info, Forms & Waivers

Welcome Home!

Thank you for choosing American Dance Training Camps! We’re thrilled you’ll be joining us for our 22nd summer of the ULTIMATE overnight dance camp. Whether you’re a first-time family or a seasoned dance camp veteran, we’re excited to welcome you to what will be a very special summer!

We’ve all been through traumas & changes the past 4+ years, and we may feel conflicting emotions as we get ready for camp. This is totally normal and part of being human! Please know that you’re not alone and other campers are feeling the same mix of anxiety & excitement (and everything in between) that you’re feeling.

And our staff is here for you! We find that when we feel sad or scared or confused, it really helps to talk about it, so please come to us when you need to vent about anything. We’ll remind you that your feelings are normal & help brainstorm strategies for using your stress to become more resilient at camp (and in life).

Our goal is to make this page your best resource for everything you need to prepare for camp. As summer approaches we will periodically send out email updates, so be sure to keep an eye out. If you have any questions, please feel free to call or email anytime.

We can’t wait to have you join us this this summer – we’re dedicated to making it our best summer yet!

Download Your Parent-Camper Handbook

handbookAll campers and parents should read each applicable section of our Parent-Camper Handbook. Inside you’ll find everything you need to get ready for camp: how to minimize and handle potential homesickness, ADTC health policies, policies regarding cell phones & other technologies, check-in/out procedures, keeping in touch while your daughter is at camp, Friday Night Student Showcase information, sample schedules and ADTC camp policies.

Pre-Camp Checklist

Here is a list of things you need to do before camp:

  • Pay Your Tuition Balance! Email Lindsey (l.fadner@danceadtc.com) if you haven’t received your online invoice.
  • ASAP But No Later Than 3 Weeks Before Camp: Complete your Registered Camper Form. If you haven’t received an invitation to complete this form via CampDoc, please email Lindsey (l.fadner@danceadtc.com). This form is where you’ll tell us more about your daughter and provide us with her emergency contacts, plans for check-in/out, insurance details, health history/medication info, and roommate request, if she has one (note: if two campers are requesting each other, we always honor mutual requests!).
  • 14 Days Before Check-in: Begin checking on the health of your camper. The risk for contagious illnesses (including lice, strep throat, flu, etc.) is always a consideration for camps where children & staff live together in close proximity. We rely on parents to ensure that campers are healthy before they travel to camp. The best camp sessions start with healthy campers and this begins at home. Here are 12 things to do before check-in to help your daughter have a healthy camp experience!
  • By Friday Before Check-In: Purchase a Good Luck Ad in our show program, if desired.
  • Get Packing: Check out the ADTC Packing List.

Check-In: Sunday, 2 – 4pm

Check in at all ADTC locations takes place from 2 – 4pm on Sunday. One parent per-camper will be allowed in the dorms to help move in / unpack.

Check-In | ADTC Forms & WaiversCheck In Stations:

Front Desk – Pick up your welcome bag, name tag & key card.

Health Screening – Review health forms & turn in all medications (in original Pharmacy labeled bottles – see directions here). Please DO NOT put medication into daily pill boxes. Make sure you bring enough medication for your daughter’s entire stay at camp!

Activities – Register for weekly activities & dance electives (see below).

Canteen – Open canteen account (see below).

Phone Call Sign Up – Schedule Wednesday call home time & turn in cell phone or other electronics (if applicable).

How To Sign Up for Activities

Activities | ADTC Forms & WaiversParents, you’ll help your camper choose her field trips, optional activities & dance electives during check-in. Any additional fees & waivers for activities that require them will be detailed at that time. If you didn’t purchase an Activities Account Deposit when you registered (or if your camper’s total activities fees equal more than your deposit amount), you’ll need to pay for activities at check-in.

If your daughter is not participating in a field trip, she must choose an optional on-campus activity or elective. Each camper must also choose between ballet, tap & world dance for her core dance elective class (subject to availability).

* Note: If your child will be traveling alone to camp or getting a ride with a friend, you can sign waivers & releases the week before camp – send us a message if you’d like us to email them to you.

How To Set Up Your Canteen Account

The ADTC Canteen carries snacks, beverages, personal items, dance apparel & supplies, as well as ADTC t-shirts and souvenirs. Your camper will make purchases against her Canteen balance and will not be allowed to spend more than the amount you deposit at check-in. Also, please note that campers are free to make their own decisions about purchases within the amount you authorize.

Canteen | ADTC Forms & WaiversCanteen deposits must be paid in-full at check-in.

Because each camper has different needs & interests, it is difficult to say how much money is necessary per-week, but we recommend at least $50 per-week solely for incidentals (snacks, beverages, etc.). Please budget higher if your daughter plans to buy ADTC apparel/souvenirs (as a reference, sweatshirts typically run $60 – $70).

If you’re expecting a canteen credit – for example, if you are owed a $25 credit for our “friend referral” promotion – please confirm this with your Program Director at check-in. We will add this amount to your total deposit.

Canteen accounts must be settled at check-out!

We’ll refund what your camper doesn’t spend (or you can authorize any last-minute purchases over her limit) at check-out. If you won’t be at check-out, please call 866-383-ADTC (2382) after her session to settle your account.

Keeping in Touch

Your camper will be permitted to call home after lunch on Wednesday at an assigned time scheduled with you during check-in. We discourage phone calls home earlier in the week as they can make a camper who is still adjusting to camp homesick. Phone contact with parents/guardians will be established in an emergency, or when there is a concern about a camper’s health and/or when a situation is not progressing as expected.

Care Packages | ADTC Forms & WaiversOutside of your daughter’s scheduled call home, here are some other ways to be in touch!

Email – In addition to your call home time on Wednesday (scheduled with you at check-in), you can also write to your daughter during her session using your Program Director’s email (which we’ll communicate to you 1 week before your camp session) – in the subject, please write, “Email For (Camper’s Name) – Please Print/Distribute.” Your daughter can also write back handwritten notes – we’ll take a picture and email them to you.

Mail & Care Packages – Campers LOVE to receive mail, especially the good old-fashioned kind! Instead of snail mail, we highly recommend you pre-write any handwritten letters & put together any care packages before camp – then sneakily give them to the Program Director at check-in (include days to distribute). For camp care packages, we recommend searching on amazon or vibealley.com (use code ADTC10 for 10% OFF).

Facebook & Instagram – Don’t forget to follow us on Facebook & Instagram for daily camp photos & videos! We’re posting pictures of the dance camp magic whenever we get a chance!

Phone Calls – Unless you have a true emergency, please refrain from calling your daughter or the camp while in session. Questions or concerns can be communicated via email to your Program Director. If you have a real emergency during camp, you can reach us at 866-383-ADTC (2382), then dial your extension:

  • Vermont: ext 1
  • California: ext 2
  • Illinois: ext 3
  • Maryland: ext 4
  • N. Carolina: ext 5
  • Colorado: ext 6
  • Wisconsin: ext 7
  • Texas: ext 8

Please note, these extensions forward to our on-site Program Director while a location is in session, but not before. Also note, there is no prompt – just dial the extension as soon as you hear our voice message. If we don’t answer, we will return your call and put you in touch with your child as quickly as possible.

Texting – If you’re like to send us a text, the best number is 415-532-ADTC (2382). Our 866 number can receive texts, but we are only able to text you back from our 415 number. Thanks!

Check Out: Saturday, 9 – 11am

Friday Show | ADTC Forms & Waivers

Check Out: Saturday, 9 – 11am

Check out at all ADTC locations takes place Saturday morning from 9 – 11am. We also offer an early check-out option Friday night immediately following our show, but most campers stay with us for their last night with new friends!

Friday Night Show: Friday, 7pm

We hope you’ll be able to attend our Friday Night Show! Fridays are THE highlight of the week at ADTC. In just five days, your camper learns performance pieces in four different dance disciplines (at least). The show typically starts at 7pm and lasts approximately 1 hour (we’ll confirm show time at check-in). Watch past ADTC shows on our YouTube Channel to get even more excited for camp!

Blog Posts To Prepare You for Camp

We recommend checking out the following ADTC blog posts as you prepare for camp:

Post-Camp Parent Survey

Thank you so much for a great week of dance camp! We’d SO appreciate it if you could take a few minutes to provide some feedback about your session – your feedback will make a positive impact on everything from the activities, food, apparel and dance classes we offer, to recognizing the efforts of our directors, teachers and counselors.
