The Stratton Mountain School is a beautiful, fully accredited boarding academy and campus located at the base of Stratton Mountain in the heart of the Green Mountains of Southern Vermont. Completed in 1999, Stratton Mountain School's state-of-the-art campus is within easy walking distance of Stratton Mountain Resort. SMS is accredited with the New England Association of Schools and Colleges (NEASC) and is also a certified member of the National Association of Independent Schools (NAIS).
The residential building can comfortably house up to 70 dancers per week, while smaller residential houses can hold up to 30 dancers per week (2 - 6 girls per room, depending on assignment). The SMS campus includes a 150-seat dining hall, dormitory-style bathrooms with laundry facilities on each floor, recreation rooms (some with foosball, ping pong, televisions, and/or pool tables), and a 35-seat movie theatre. The SMS gymnasium at the Stratton Mountain Sports Center (within walking distance of the school) includes tennis courts, a rock climbing wall, a weight room and trampolines.
The Stratton Mountain School also has a 16,000 square foot on-campus gymnasium. The first floor contains large areas for weight lifting and stretching, while the second floor has a full-length basketball court and performance stage. Each dance room has ample space to accommodate up to 25 dancers per class (though American Dance Training Camp dance class sizes are usually much smaller).
Families who don't want to be too far from their dancers are encouraged to stay at Stratton while their daughter attends dance camp.
