We at ADTC pride ourselves on our reputation for safety, dance excellence, great staff, high quality facilities, and professionalism. We require all of our staff to follow in these footsteps of pride and professionalism to ensure the tradition of excellence at ADTC continues.

2010 SUMMER OVERNIGHT CAMP POSITIONS

Spend an action-packed summer dancing, working with kids and enjoying the great outdoors! American Dance Training Camp is looking for qualified staff for all sessions of our summer sleep-away camps in Vermont, North Carolina, New Jersey, Wisconsin, Missouri, California, Washington, Texas, Colorado and Peru.

>> Program Director (PD) - All sessions, All locations (Start March 2010)

PDs take charge of the management of the overall camp operation at their location at the direction of the VP Programming. PDs join ADTC in February with part-time work from home. During the summer, PDs work full-time and must be available for ALL session-weeks at their ADTC location/s. The overall goal for Summer Overnight Camp PDs is to further the mission of ADTC by designing and delivering program activities that are safe, fun & appropriate for the campers' ages & abilities.

>> Instructor-Counselor (IC) - All sessions, All locations

ICs independently plan, choreograph and teach dance classes. Outside of the dance studio, ICs are primary caregivers for groups of campers, coordinating and carrying out camp activities and guiding campers in their personal growth. Must be 21 or over and pre-endorsed as an ADTC Affiliate Instructor to be hired as an Instructor-Counselor. New and returning ICs must attend an on-site staff training for overnight camp employees.

>> Junior Instructor-Counselor (JIC) - All sessions, All locations

JICs are primary caregivers for groups of campers and assist ICs in dance classes. JICs plan, choreograph and teach elective dance classes; coordinate and carry out camp activities and guide campers in their personal growth. Must be 18 or over. New and returning JICs must attend an on-site staff training for overnight camp employees.

>> Counselor-In-Training (CIT) - All sessions, All locations

CITs assist JICs as primary caregivers for groups of campers and assist ICs in dance classes. CITs assist JICs in planning, choreographing and teaching elective dance classes, coordinating and carrying out camp activities and guiding campers in their personal growth. Applicants must be 16 or over and must have completed an ADTC Leaders-In-Training program at the desired camp location. All hired CITs (new and returning) must attend the on-site staff training for overnight camp employees.

>> Health Care Manager (HCM) - All sessions, All locations

If you are a Registered Nurse (RN) or physician, you may apply for our HCM (Camp Nurse) position - you can even choose to send your daughter to camp for FREE!

>> Life Guard (LG) - All sessions, All locations

NOTE: This position is open ONLY to current ADTC summer staff who are already hired to work as ICs for JICs. If you are a certified lifeguard or interested in becoming a certified lifeguard in addition to being an IC or JIC, you may apply for the lifeguard position.

>> Camp Mom - All sessions, All locations

Camp moms act as chaperones during their child's camp session, supervising a group of campers and helping out around camp.

 

YEAR-ROUND POSITIONS

>> Local Dance Director (LD) - Towns Throughout North America (Start April 2010)

LDs are passionate, hardworking people with a dance background who we hire to help launch & direct our local dance programs in towns throughout North America. This is a great opportunity for the dance enthusiast (ex-dancers, college dancers, moms, dance studio owners, etc.) to earn extra income doing work you love - with a limited time commitement and a flexible schedule! There are no costs involved for LDs, although you will be expected to put in time up front to get the program up and running. If you are hired, ADTC assumes all the financial risk of starting a new program, from advertising to set-up. If you have the passion & ambition to take control of your future, join the ADTC team and become a Local Director!

>> Affiliate Dance Instructor (Start ASAP)

Take a major leap in your dance career and reap the benefits of affiliation, endorsement and marketing by American Dance Training Camp. We'll drive dancers to your personal or company website, increase registrations at your current workshops & events AND put you in contact with dance teams, companies, studios & squads interested in private camps throughout the year! We have FUN overnight camp opportunities too (note: you must be an ADTC Affiliate Dance Instructor to be eligible to work as an Instructor-Counselor at ADTC Summer Overnight & Boot Camps)!

 

HOW TO APPLY

  1. If applying for an Affiliate Instructor position, please email (Jobs@DanceADTC.com) or mail (PO Box 14922, San Francisco, CA 94114) us clips and/or DVDs of you dancing/teaching along with a note to introduce yourself, then proceed to step 2. Remember: you must be an Affiliate Instructor to qualify for employment as a summer Instructor-Counselor (IC) or Spring Boot Camp Instructor. If you are applying for any other position, please skip step 1 and proceed to step 2.
  2. If you worked for us in 2009 and are re-applying for 2010 employment, please print and complete our Re-Hire Application Form (fax to 866-383-2382 or scan and email it to Jobs@DanceADTC.com). If you did not work for us in 2009, please skip this step and proceed to sep 3.
  3. New Hire Applicants - Please either:

    3a. Fill out and submit our online application (Recommended) - OR -

    3b. Print and fax in our pdf application form to 866-383-2382 (or you can scan and email it to Jobs@DanceADTC.com)

  4. All applicants - forward the Letter of Reference Form to TWO people who know you well (at least one reference should be familiar with your experience working with children). Have them fill out the form and fax (866-383-2382) or email (Jobs@DanceADTC.com) it directly to us. Do not have your references send the form back to you. The letters must come to us directly from your references.
  5. After we have received your completed application and both of your letters of reference, ADTC will contact you to discuss next steps. Please note we cannot begin to review your application until ALL materials have been received.
