American Dance Training Camp in the Smoky Mountains of Nantahala, NC offers overnight summer dance camps for girls ages 8 - 17. Learn the latest jazz, funk and hip hop dance moves from our top notch dance faculty.
The Nantahala Village Resort & Spa is a unique summer retreat in the Great Smoky Mountains National Park in western North Carolina. The 200 acre Village, featuring modern cabins, a handsome main lodge and full-service restaurant, serves as an excellent base from which to explore Western North Carolina's colorful heritage and numerous summer mountain activities.
Nantahala Village offers everything you need to help you unwind in between dancing and summer adventures: you can swim, horseback ride, mountain bike, and hike, start a whitewater rafting adventure on the Nantahala River, or play tennis, shuffleboard or volleyball. Campers also enjoy a 1000 square foot game room (video games, fusball, ping-pong, pool, etc.), playground and dining on the large covered deck with panoramic Smoky Mountain views. Laundry facilities are located in the main lodge, and ADTC offers a dance canteen for basic daily supplies.
The far Western region of North Carolina is easily accessible from many major metropolitan areas. The Asheville, NC airport is just 55 miles away, while Knoxville, TN and Atlanta, GA are only 80 and 152 miles away, respectively.
Core classes in hip hop dance, jazz dance and musical theatre dance are held in the conference rooms as well as outside with a beautiful mountain back-drop. We set up wall-sized portable mirrors in each dance room, and there is ample space to accommodate up to 20 dancers per class (though American Dance Training Camp dance classes are usually much smaller).
Families who don't want to be too far from their dancers are encouraged to stay at Nantahala Village while their daughter attends dance camp.
